Frequently Asked Questions
Yes we do provide extra-mural activities. These range from free activities offered by Bellville Christian Academy, as well as paid services provided by different companies. Here are examples of some of the activities offered: Soccer. Art. Chess. Dance.
Our school week runs from Mondays to Fridays. Our doors open at 07:00 am. Each Learning Center officially starts at 07:30. The academic day ends at 14:00. Any student that requires to stay later in the afternoon needs to be enrolled in the Aftercare program.
Yes, we do provide an aftercare service which comes at an additional cost. Take note that aftercare is only available during the school term. We do not offer a Holiday Program currently.
BCA is run independently from a denomination, and thus no one is required to belong to any specific church.
Yes, we are registered by the Western Cape Education Department.
The Karri app is an application we use for all minor transactions except for school fees. BCA is a cash-free zone to prioritise safety.
We specialize as Primary School. We have classrooms ranging from Pre Grade R, up until Grade 7.
Although each Learning Center can differ, we have the general guideline of having 20 students per Learning Center which will then consist of 2 teachers. This brings the ration of student-to-teacher to around 1 teacher per 10 students.
The core subject we have available are Maths, English, Literature, Afrikaans, Social Studies, Science, and Word Building. We also have several subjects that falls within the scope we refer to as expanded curriculum. These include subject like Bible Reading, Animal Science, Life Orientation, and Wisdom PACES.
Built into the A.C.E curriculum, we have multiple tools which assist each Supervisor to assess comprehension and progress. There are several models which we call Checkups, Self-Tests, and PACE Tests which makes up the continues assessment approach to determine whether the student mastered the content.
Not only do we have a parent-teacher conference each term, but parents also enjoy regular access to each child’s teacher. This access is possible because of the smaller classroom environments, making it much more achievable to communicate with each parent individually.

BCA opens at 07:00am. Our Learning Centres begins at 07:30am and continue up until 14:00pm. Students receive two break times of 30 minutes each during the course of the day.
